The competition is a 1v1 allstyles battle. Dancers will compete head-to-head in elimination rounds.

Winners are decided by our panel of esteemed judges based on performance, creativity, and technique.

The event will be held on Sunday, June 23rd, 2024 in the back parking lot of building 422 University Ave W. St Paul, MN 55103 at Stage 2.

Is there an age limit to participate?

All ages are welcome to apply. There will be no separate competitions for kids and adults. Kids and adults will compete against each other.

There is no strict dress code, but we encourage comfortable and expressive attire suitable for dancing.

MEET THE COLLABORATORS
Cypher Side's mission is to welcome and inspire young dancers into a healthy and diverse community. We are a hub for youth dance culture that teaches and encourages youth to perform different dance styles.
Cypher Side started in 2017 inside the Indigenous Roots Cultural Arts Center and is now currently in North Saint Paul. Classes currently offered are Break Dancing, Hip Hop, and KPop. Ages range from 3 years to adults.
Our Performance Team has performed for Mall of America, Sunisa Lee, the Governor’s Inauguration, and MN State Fair. Our accredited Instructors have outstanding resumes such as performing for Minnesota Timberwolves/ Lynx Games with The First Avenue Breakers and 612 Crew, dancing for Super Bowl 52 halftime show, and so much more. Cypher Side has also been featured in music videos for artists such as Huab Vwj, Supryze, Chenning, Douachi Yang, PROF and much more!
Lue Thao
Lue Thao, professionally known as “Finisher”, is a prominent figure in dance, excelling as an instructor, competitor, and performer. In 2017, he established Cypher Side through a collaborative effort with his peers at the Indigenous Roots Cultural Arts Center, marking a significant milestone in his career. In February 2021, he opened Cypher Side Dance School studio in the Twin Cities, providing a dedicated space for dance education and practice.
A native of Thailand, Lue's upbringing in the East Side Saint Paul has shaped his artistic journey. Lue's versatility in dance has been sought after in the music industry, featuring in music videos for diverse artists, including Huab Vwj (Nkaujhuab Zoo), Chenning Xiong, Supryze, Kevin Yang , PROF, and among many others. With a robust experience spanning 18 years, Lue's exceptional talent has earned him accolades in over 20 dance competitions nationwide.
Lue is currently a dance professor at Macalester College for their Urban Streets course. Lue's dynamic performances have graced live television, notably on Fox 9 and TPT . His repertoire extends to exhilarating halftime and quarter show performances for the Minnesota NBA Minnesota Timberwolves and Lynx as a member of the First Avenue Breakers. His distinguished performances include high-profile events such as the halftime show for JustinTimberlake during Super Bowl 52, the I Love The 90s Tour MN alongside Vanilla Ice, and the Prince Tribute Concert with Tori Kelly, solidifying his status as a versatile and captivating performer.

Ozzy Dris is a 35 year old Filipino American born and raised in the Bay Area, CA and now residing in the Twin Cities, MN where his professional dance career started. With a 20 year dance background in the styles of Breaking, Rocking and with his most influential one being House Dancing, Ozzy has been able to teach, perform, judge, & compete in major competitions and festivals not just all over the USA but in different parts of the world as well. As a member of The Break Cops, Rock Lordz, Soul Steppers, Circle Theory, and the MN dance community, he strives to help expand the street/club dance culture in the Minnesota and all over the Midwest.
Konwork
Tyrell Griffin
Krump Dancer, Videographer for Stance Elements, and Photographer for self made brand Kanoodie Films.
Born and based out of Kansas City MO.
Tyrell attended Paseo Academy of Performing Arts, and graduated with masters in Saxophone. Around 2009 he was introduced to KRUMP and his whole life changed. Being a perfectionist, Tyrell traveled to California to train under the originators of Krump dancing. Became part of several elite dance groups, including Beastcamp, SK and creating his own fam. After becoming a known battler and professional dancer Tyrell started to take his crafts to the classroom to become not only a teacher of Krump, but a motivator in the dance scene. Being one of the original members of Midwest SK, Tyrell has had the privilege to judge the first KBL in the Midwest.
Around 2010 he was introduced to photography where he branded the name Kanoodie. And in 2022 he was brought on to the team of Stance Elements to be a videographer for dance and movement.
With millions of views on YouTube from battle culture to music videos to now stance, Konfidentz and Konwork have made a reputation for itself.

Representing The FLooridians and Thesis Dance Festival, Hans is known in the street dance community as cultural ambassador through his work as a dancer, dj, teacher, event coordinator and host.
